Choose vocabulary by frequency rank — NoaLingua
In short
Use frequency information to prioritize useful saved words without treating a number as a complete learning plan. NoaLingua shows ranks from its supported subtitle-frequency lists.
Steps
- Open a word card and look for its frequency rank or the rank of its base form.
- In Settings → Vocabulary choose Most common words first.
- Compare frequent unfamiliar words with vocabulary important to your current topic.
- Save or review the words you can connect to an actual sentence.
Try this exercise
A common verb form may show a rank for its base verb. Check that relationship before making separate flashcards.
Watch out for
Ranks cover English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Russian subtitle lists. An absent rank does not mean a word is useless.
Check your result
Your next review set balances frequently encountered words with your own reading goals.
A manageable session
Choose one short passage whose overall meaning you can follow. Decide what you want to practise before turning on a feature: hearing words, recalling their meaning or producing a sentence. Keep a note of the difficult moment instead of collecting every unfamiliar word. Stop when you can explain that passage without looking at its translation.
Come back to it
In your next session, try the same passage before opening the answer. If it is still difficult, shorten it and repeat the troublesome part. If it feels easy, use the expression in a new sentence or move to another passage. This is a suggested routine, not a promise of a particular learning speed.
Translation follows your chosen settings and may require an online provider. A printed exercise or exported subtitle file does not download the source video. Use material you are entitled to access and keep a backup before changing your vocabulary collection.
