Specific to Vietnamese

Things that are only true of Vietnamese in NoaLingua

  • Vietnamese has neither a UniMorph nor a kaikki pack. The UniMorph absence is honest rather than a gap — Vietnamese is analytic, so there is nothing to conjugate — but the missing dictionary means definitions come from the online sources only.
  • Vietnamese is one of six supported languages the punctuation model does not cover.
  • Example sentences from Tatoeba are available, so the word card still carries real bilingual examples.
  • This is the thinnest offline coverage of any supported language: examples work offline, definitions and grammar do not.
Setting up for Vietnamese Choose Vietnamese as the language you are learning in the extension popup or Settings → Languages. Packs begin downloading immediately and in the background — leave the browser open for 15 to 30 minutes and check the corner of the screen. When it goes quiet, everything is local. Common questions about NoaLingua

Does NoaLingua work for Vietnamese?

Vietnamese is one of the 28 languages in the learning and translation selectors, and 5 of its ten capability axes are verified. The table on this page shows exactly which ones — including the ones that are documented as absent.

Can I get grammar tables for Vietnamese?

No. No UniMorph dataset exists. Vietnamese is an analytic language — there is genuinely nothing to conjugate or decline. Everything else — definitions where available, examples, saving and review — works normally.

Does Vietnamese work offline?

Partly. Example sentences work offline once downloaded, but there is no offline dictionary for Vietnamese — definitions come from the online sources or not at all.

What does “not documented” mean in the table?

That we have not verified it ourselves, so we will not claim it either way. It is not the same as “no”. Several of those columns depend on data Chrome owns and does not publish per language.
