Answer

What NoaLingua gives away, and what it does not

Every feature on the free plan; paying lifts one cap

Every feature works on the free plan: both PDF modes, shadowing, speech practice, all thirty practice formats and every export format, on every supported site. There is no trial that expires and no locked feature list. Paying lifts the cap on how many words your deck holds, and nothing else.

Short answer Free means every feature, not a trial. The only thing paying changes is deck size.

The detail behind the NoaLingua answer

What "free" usually means in this category, and what it means here

Usually it means a subset: subtitles free, the dictionary paid; or a fortnight of everything, then a wall. The list of what you lose is discoverable only after installing.

Here the product is not divided by feature at all. It is divided on one axis — how many words your deck holds — and everything else is on both sides of that line, including every export format.

Why export is free even at the cap

Export stays free on every plan, including at the deck limit, and that is deliberate. Work you did should not be held hostage to a subscription.

You can take out Anki-compatible CSV, a real Anki package with images from the video and the speaker’s own audio where it was captured, an editable spreadsheet you can re-import, or your whole profile as one JSON file.

More questions people ask NoaLingua

Does the free version expire?

No. It is not a trial. It works indefinitely with every feature, and the only limit is how many words you save.

What is the deck cap on the free plan?

The cap is defined but not yet enforced at the save path in the current build, so nobody has reached it. The pricing page states the current position rather than the intended one.

Are there ads?

No ads, no analytics in the extension, and no data collection. The counters in the settings are computed on your device for you.
