Answer
Can I send Netflix subtitles to Anki? NoaLingua answers
Yes for the lines you watched, no for the whole film
Yes, for the lines you have watched. Saving a word on Netflix keeps the sentence, its translation, the title and the timestamp, and that deck exports to Anki. What you cannot do is dump a whole film: Netflix never exposes the complete subtitle file, so only lines that reached the screen exist as data.
Short answer Yes for lines you have watched, with the sentence and translation attached. No for the whole film — Netflix never exposes the full subtitle file.
The detail behind the NoaLingua answer
What a card carries
A bare word pair is the weakest possible card, and it is what most manual workflows produce because copying context is tedious. Saving from a subtitle line avoids that by construction: the card keeps the whole sentence the word appeared in, that sentence translated, the title it came from and the exact moment.
On YouTube the card can also carry an image from the video and the speaker's own audio for the sentence, which is the format sentence-mining workflows are built around. Netflix is the more restricted surface of the two.
Why the whole film is impossible
Netflix streams subtitle cues as the film plays and never hands over a complete file. Every tool sees the same thing: the line currently on screen and the ones already past. There is no complete script sitting anywhere to export, which is why nothing can offer a full Netflix transcript however much it would like to.
YouTube hands the whole caption track over in one request, so a full bilingual export is possible there, with an honest count of what was actually captured.
Getting the deck out
Export is free on every plan, which matters more than it sounds: it is the difference between a deck you own and a deck that is hostage to a subscription. Four formats are available — an Anki-compatible CSV, a real Anki package with images and sentence audio where those were captured, an editable spreadsheet you can re-import, and your whole profile as a single JSON file.
That JSON file is also how you move between computers, since there is no account and nothing syncs.
More questions people ask NoaLingua
Do I need Anki for the review to work?
No. Spaced review is built in, with the sentence and the source on every card. Anki export exists for people who already live in Anki, not as a substitute for something missing.
Does the export include audio from Netflix?
No. Sentence audio is captured on YouTube where the caption track and the media are both reachable. On Netflix the card carries the sentence, the translation, the title and the timestamp.
Is export limited on the free plan?
No. All four formats are free on every plan. The only thing a paid plan changes is how many cards your deck may hold, and the pricing page states that limit alongside whether it is currently enforced.
