# NoaLingua conjugation tables, opened at the right tense

It names the exact form you clicked, then shows the whole table

Click any inflected form and the card names it exactly — "3rd person singular present of faire" — then opens the full conjugation or declension table at that tense. You do not have to know the dictionary form first, which is the part that usually stops you.

Short answer You click the form you met. It works out the base word, names the form, and opens the table there.

So the card resolves the form to its base word before it looks anything up. With the Wiktionary pack downloaded that is a disk read; without it, a network round trip. French and Italian elisions are stripped first, so clicking l’arbitrage looks up arbitrage rather than failing.

### Where the grammar data comes from, and where it stops

Morphology comes from UniMorph, on disk. The tables cover the language’s real inflection, which means they are large for German and Russian and absent for languages that have none.

Two gaps are worth knowing before you install. French and Italian UniMorph datasets contain no nouns or adjectives at all, so their tables cover verbs only and the Wiktionary pack is effectively required. Chinese, Vietnamese and Thai have no tables at all, and that is not a defect — they are analytic languages with no conjugation to tabulate.

## More questions people ask NoaLingua

Does it work for nouns and adjectives too?

In most languages, yes — the declension table opens the same way. In French and Italian it is verbs only, because their UniMorph datasets contain no nouns or adjectives.

What if the grammar pack is not downloaded?

The card says so plainly, with the size of the download, rather than showing you an empty table.

Why does a verb take slightly longer than a noun?

Because the form has to be resolved to its base word before anything can be looked up. With the pack on disk that is fast; without it, it is a network round trip.
